Target Information
CD31 (Platelet Endothelial Cell Adhesion Molecule-1, PECAM-1) is an inhibitory coreceptor involved in regulating T and B cell signaling through immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs (ITIMs).
It is widely expressed within the vascular system, primarily at intercellular junctions. The N-terminal Ig-like domain mediates homophilic binding, crucial for cell-cell interactions.
CD31 functions in integrin-mediated adhesion, transendothelial migration, angiogenesis, apoptosis, immune regulation, macrophage phagocytosis, and thrombosis, playing a key regulatory role in vascular biology.
