This peptide corresponds to 13 amino acids near the amino terminus of TFPI.
PEP-1621 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-34578.
For Western blot blocking, incubate the peptide with an equal volume of antibody for 30 minutes at 37°C.

Target Information

Tissue factor pathway inhibitor (TFPI), also known as lipoprotein-associated coagulation inhibitor, is a protease inhibitor that regulates the tissue factor (TF)-dependent pathway of blood coagulation. TFPI is glycosylated and predominantly found in the vascular endothelium and plasma, both in free forms and complexed with plasma lipoproteins.

The coagulation process begins with the formation of a factor VIIa-TF complex, which activates additional proteases (factors IX and X), ultimately leading to fibrin clot formation. TFPI inhibits activated factor X and VIIa-TF proteases in an autoregulatory loop.
