Product Specific Information

The 11H3 antibody reacts with human TACI (tumor necrosis factor receptor 13B). TACI binds BAFF and APRIL and plays a role in regulating humoral immune responses, activating NF-κB and c-Jun N-terminal kinase, and is implicated in B cell-related autoimmune diseases. TACI mRNA and protein are predominantly expressed in B cells and correlate with BLyS binding.

This antibody does not block BAFF/BLyS binding to TACI.

Applications Reported: Suitable for flow cytometric analysis. For functional assays, use the Functional Grade purified 11H3 (Product #16-9217).

Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended usage ≤0.5 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimal concentration should be titrated empirically depending on cell number (10^5–10^8 cells/test).

Target Information

Members of the TNF superfamily regulate immune responses and induce apoptosis. BAFF (BLyS/TALL-1/THANK/zTNF4) and APRIL (TALL-2) are two key TNF family members.
BAFF acts as a B cell activator promoting proliferation and immunoglobulin secretion, while APRIL regulates both immunological and non-immunological cell growth.
Three receptors—BCMA, TACI, and BAFF-R—bind BAFF and APRIL. TACI and its ligands regulate humoral immune responses, activate NF-κB and c-Jun N-terminal kinase, and are involved in B cell-associated autoimmune diseases.
