This antibody detects endogenous levels of total TAF12.
Target Information
TAF12 is involved in the control of transcription by RNA polymerase II as part of the basal transcription machinery. These protein complexes, in association with RNA polymerase II, are modulated by transactivator proteins that bind to cis-regulatory elements near transcription start sites. Some modulators interact directly with the basal complex, while others act as bridging proteins linking transactivators to basal transcription factors. Among these are the TAF proteins, which mediate the function of distinct transcriptional activators for various gene promoters and RNA polymerases. TAF12 interacts directly with TBP and TAF2I within the TFIID complex.
