Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
MAGEA9 is a member of the MAGEA gene family. Members of this family have their entire coding sequences located in the last exon, and the encoded proteins share 50–80% sequence identity. The promoters and first exons of the MAGEA genes show considerable variability, suggesting that this gene family enables the same function to be expressed under different transcriptional controls. MAGEA genes are highly expressed in various tumors but are silent in normal tissues except for testis and placenta. They are clustered on chromosome Xq28 and may be implicated in hereditary disorders such as dyskeratosis congenita.
