Signal-induced proliferation associated-like protein 2 (SIPA1L3)는 SIPA1 계열 RapGAP 단백질의 구성원으로, 세포 간 접합(tight junctions 및 adherens junctions)의 새로운 분자 구성 요소로 밝혀졌습니다. RapGEFs의 작용을 상쇄하여 Rap1 신호를 조절하는 역할을 할 수 있습니다.
SIPA1L3의 조절 이상은 마우스에서 조혈 줄기세포 질환을 유발하고 인간 암에서 전이를 증가시킬 수 있으며, SIPA1L1은 배아 발달과 세포 증식 조절에 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. SIPA1 계열의 높은 상동성에 따라 SIPA1L3도 세포 발달 및 증식에 관여할 가능성이 있습니다.
