Target Information

NICE4, also known as UBAP2L (Ubiquitin-associated protein 2-like) or KIAA0144, is a 1,087 amino acid protein that is ubiquitously expressed. Phosphorylated upon DNA damage, NICE4 contains one UBA domain and is expressed as four isoforms produced by alternative splicing events.
The gene encoding NICE4 maps to human chromosome 1, the largest human chromosome spanning about 260 million base pairs and comprising approximately 8% of the human genome. Chromosome 1 contains around 3,000 genes, many of which are associated with various diseases such as Hutchinson-Gilford progeria (LMNA gene), familial adenomatous polyposis (MUTYH gene), Stickler syndrome, Parkinson’s disease, Gaucher disease, and Usher syndrome.
