Target Information

Yfc51.1Mab is a biosimilar that targets ITGB2/CD18.
CD18 (integrin beta 2 subunit) is a 90 kDa type I transmembrane protein expressed on all leukocytes. It forms heterodimers with CD11 molecules (CD11a–d) to constitute leukocyte (β2) integrins:

• αLβ2 (CD11a/CD18, LFA-1)
• αMβ2 (CD11b/CD18, Mac-1, CR3)
• αXβ2 (CD11c/CD18)
• αDβ2 (CD11d/CD18)

These integrins are essential for leukocyte migration and intercellular adhesion.
Deficiency or mutation of CD18 leads to leukocyte adhesion deficiency type I (LAD1) and other immune-related disorders.
CD18 is also a target of Mannheimia haemolytica leukotoxin, mediating leukotoxin-induced cytolysis.
Two transcript variants encoding the CD18 protein have been identified.
