Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Beta Galactosidase (GLB1) encodes a member of the glycosyl hydrolase 35 family. Alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants, one of which encodes a preproprotein processed into a mature lysosomal enzyme. This enzyme hydrolyzes terminal beta-linked galactose residues from ganglioside substrates and other glycoconjugates. Mutations in this gene are associated with GM1-gangliosidosis and Morquio B syndrome. Diseases related to GLB1 include GM1-Gangliosidosis Type I and Type II.
