Target Information
CHEK2 (CHK2) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in the DNA damage checkpoint pathway. Mutations in CHK2 are associated with various cancers. It phosphorylates tumor suppressor proteins and is activated by DNA damage. CHK2 also phosphorylates BRCA1, aiding in cell survival after DNA damage. Mutations in CHK2 are linked to Li-Fraumeni syndrome, sarcomas, breast cancer, and brain tumors.
