Target Information
RBM35A, also known as ESRP1, is an mRNA splicing factor that, along with its related protein RBM35B (ESRP2), coordinates an epithelial cell-type-specific splicing program.
RBM35A contains three putative RNA recognition motifs and binds specific sequences in mRNAs. It regulates posttranscriptional expression of genes such as FGFR2, CD44, CTNND1, and ENAH, affecting protein translation via 5′ UTR regions.
Recent studies suggest that RBM35A may function as a novel tumor suppressor.
