AGPAT1는 lysophosphatidic acid (LPA)를 phosphatidic acid (PA)로 전환시키는 효소를 암호화합니다.
LPA와 PA는 세포 내 신호 전달 및 지질 생합성에 관여하는 인지질입니다.
이 효소는 소포체(endoplasmic reticulum)에 위치하며, 인간 주요 조직적합복합체(MHC) class III 영역에 존재합니다.
대체 스플라이싱으로 동일한 단백질을 암호화하는 두 가지 전사 변형이 발생합니다.
