Target Information
NEDD4L is an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase that transfers ubiquitin from an E2 enzyme to target substrates. It inhibits TGF-beta signaling by promoting ubiquitination and degradation of SMAD2 and TGFR1. NEDD4L also mediates ubiquitination and internalization of multiple plasma membrane channels, including ENaC, Nav1.2, Nav1.3, Nav1.5, Nav1.7, Nav1.8, Kv1.3, EAAT1, and CLC5, as well as degradation of SGK.
