Product Specific Information
- For Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Immunoglobulin classes share a basic structure composed of two heavy chains and two light chains (kappa and lambda). Both light chains have variable and constant regions, which can be distinguished by antigenic properties of the constant region. The typical ratio of kappa to lambda is 70:30.
Antibodies against the kappa light chain are useful for identifying leukemias, plasmacytomas, and certain non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas. Demonstration of clonality in lymphoid infiltrates indicates malignancy.
