Target Information
ATAD3A is a member of the AAA ATPase family, which catalyzes ATP into ADP and is involved in cellular processes such as cell-cycle regulation, protein proteolysis, and transport. The AAA ATPase family is characterized by a conserved AAA motif containing Walker homology sequences that confer ATPase activity. Mitochondrial membrane proteins ATAD3A/B contribute to the stabilization of nucleoids and may participate in transformation pathways and the chemosensitivity of oligodendrogliomas. The genes encoding ATAD3A/B/C map to human chromosome 1 and have been suggested as anti-apoptotic markers.
