This peptide corresponds to 17 amino acids near the carboxy terminus of human UCMA.
PEP-0882 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-20768.
Target Information
UCMA encodes a protein specific to chondrocytes, highly charged, and abundantly expressed in the upper immature zone of fetal and juvenile epiphyseal cartilage. The protein undergoes proteolytic processing to form a mature extracellular matrix protein. Glutamic acid residues are gamma-carboxylated in a vitamin K-dependent manner, and undercarboxylation is associated with osteoarthritis in humans. Alternative splicing generates multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. UCMA is also associated with diseases such as Osteoarthritis and Poland Syndrome.
