Filtration Overview

Syringe Filters are used for many routine preparation steps in laboratories worldwide. They are convenient, ready-to-use disposables for sterile filtration of liquids and removal of particles from solutions and gases. Depending on the reagents filtered, syringe filters must meet certain requirements to best serve the application.

For clarification and sterilization of liquids, filtration is the optimal method. It removes microorganisms and particles reliably, without affecting ingredients due to adsorption or decomposition. Sterile filtration of liquids and gases can be performed with virtually no effect on the ingredients.

Sterile syringe filters are typically used in life science applications to sterilize solutions or for clarification. Non-sterile syringe filters are used across a range of filtration and sample preparation applications, including analytical chemistry, to protect analytical equipment from particle contamination.

Biosharp Syringe Filters

Biosharp Syringe Filters are designed for various filtration applications. PES, PVDF, PTFE, MCE, CA, and Nylon membrane filters are ideal for sample preparation and small-volume chemical filtration. Available in 0.22 μm and 0.45 μm pore sizes and three diameters to suit your application needs.

The single-use, disposable filters remove particles larger than the membrane’s rated pore size. Exceptionally consistent pore size maximizes sterility. These filters feature low leachables, extractables, and protein binding, protecting samples without introducing contaminants or interfering with analytes or proteins.
