Description
Viva columns are based on a wide-pore material designed for optimal large-molecule separations. Many commercial wide-pore silicas meet the standard 300 Å mean pore size but have broad distributions, leaving much of the surface area unavailable to larger molecules. Viva columns feature a narrow pore size distribution, allowing a greater portion of the silica surface to contribute to separation efficiency.
The Restek PFP Propyl phase offers excellent retention and selectivity for charged bases, electronegative compounds, and amine-containing molecules. Unlike conventional cyano columns, it performs reliably with acidic mobile phases and is highly compatible with LC-MS applications. This versatile column also supports highly aqueous mobile phases and HILIC separations.
