Target Information
KRT24 encodes a member of the type I (acidic) keratin family, part of the intermediate filament (IF) protein superfamily. Keratins are heteropolymeric structural proteins forming intermediate filaments that, together with actin microfilaments and microtubules, compose the cytoskeleton of epithelial cells. Type I keratin genes are clustered on chromosome 17q12–q21.
