Target Information
GAD-65와 GAD-67은 글루탐산 탈카복실화 효소로, GABA(γ-aminobutyric acid) 생성을 촉매한다. GABA는 중추 신경계에서 주된 억제성 신경전달물질로, Cl⁻ 전도도를 증가시켜 신경 발화를 억제한다.
GABA는 GABAA, GABAB, GABAC 수용체를 활성화하며, 이 중 GABAC 수용체는 빠른 억제성 신경전달을 매개하는 리간드 개폐 이온 채널이다.
GABRR1, GABRR2, GABRR3 유전자는 각각 GABAC 수용체의 세 가지 폴리펩타이드를 암호화하며, GABRR1과 GABRR2는 염색체 6q 영역에, GABRR3은 3q11–q13.3에 위치한다.
이 수용체 아형들은 망막뿐 아니라 시각 경로를 포함한 다양한 뇌 영역에서도 발현된다.
