Target Information
The PPRC1 gene encodes a protein similar to PPAR-gamma coactivator 1 (PPARGC1/PGC-1), which activates mitochondrial biogenesis partly through interaction with nuclear respiratory factor 1 (NRF1). PPRC1 is considered a functional relative of PPARGC1 that promotes mitochondrial biogenesis through NRF1 in response to proliferative signals.
