- Isoform 1: Cytoplasm, Nucleus (nucleolus). Translocates to the nucleus upon HRG treatment. Phosphorylation at Ser-361 by PKC/PRKCD regulates nucleolar localization.

배경 (Background)
This gene encodes an RNA-binding protein involved in growth regulation. It is present in pre-ribosomal ribonucleoprotein complexes and may play a role in ribosome assembly and rRNA processing. EBP1 interacts with the cytoplasmic domain of the ErbB3 receptor, contributing to growth regulatory signal transduction. It also acts as a transcriptional co-repressor of androgen receptor-regulated genes and other cell cycle genes via histone deacetylase interactions. This protein has been linked to growth inhibition and differentiation induction in human cancer cells. Six pseudogenes are located on chromosomes 3, 6, 9, 18, 20, and X. (RefSeq, Jul 2008)
