Target Information
The Sema3A gene belongs to the semaphorin family and encodes a protein with Ig-like C2-type, PSI, and Sema domains. This secreted protein can function as a chemorepulsive or chemoattractive agent, regulating axonal and dendritic growth. It plays a critical role in normal neuronal pattern development. Elevated expression is linked to schizophrenia and various tumor cell lines, while aberrant release is associated with Alzheimer’s disease progression.
