Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. It was identified by its similarity to leukocyte-associated immunoglobulin-like receptor 1 (LAIR1), a membrane-bound receptor that modulates innate immune responses. The encoded soluble receptor may inhibit collagen-induced platelet aggregation and contribute to vessel formation during placental implantation. This gene is located in the leukocyte receptor cluster on chromosome 19q13.4, which contains 29 immunoglobulin superfamily genes. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.
