Product Specific Information

The eBio17B7 antibody reacts with mouse and rat IL-17A without cross-reactivity to IL-17F. IL-17A is a CD4+ T cell-derived cytokine that promotes inflammatory responses and is elevated in autoimmune and inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, and transplant rejection.

IL-17A enhances ICAM-1 expression and induces secretion of IL-6, IL-8, G-CSF, and PGE2 in epithelial and fibroblastic cells. It also supports proliferation of CD34+ hematopoietic progenitors and their maturation into neutrophils.

IL-23-dependent Th17 cells produce IL-17A, distinct from Th1 and Th2 differentiation pathways.

Applications Reported:

• Suitable for intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:

• Tested on Th17-polarized mouse splenocytes using Intracellular Fixation and Permeabilization Buffer Set (Product # 88-8824-00).
• Recommended usage ≤ 0.25 µg/test in 100 µL final volume.
• Optimize antibody titration for best performance.
• Compatible with Foxp3 buffer system (Product # 00-5523-00).

Target Information

Interleukin-17A (IL-17A, CTLA-8) is a CD4+ T cell-derived cytokine involved in inflammatory responses. It forms a 32 kDa disulfide-linked homodimer and signals through IL-17R/CDw217. IL-17A regulates NF-kappa B and MAPK pathways, enhances IL-6 and COX-2 expression, and promotes nitric oxide production.
