Target Information
FAM3C is a 227 amino acid secretory protein that belongs to a novel cytokine-like family with sequence similarity to the FAM3 family. FAM3C is a signaling cytokine with a GG domain, hydrophobic leader sequence, and an N-terminal signal peptide. It exhibits cytokine activity and shows altered expression in pancreatic cancer-derived cells. FAM3C is ubiquitously expressed in most tissues and plays an important role in inner ear development, potentially involved in cell differentiation and proliferation during embryogenesis.
