PTPN23는 ESCRT-I 복합체 및 기타 ESCRT 복합체와의 상호작용을 통해 다중 소포체(MVBs)로의 엔도사이토시스된 유비퀴틴화된 화물의 분류에 관여합니다. 또한 Ras 매개 유사분열 활성의 음성 조절자로 작용할 수 있으며, 섬모 형성(ciliogenesis)에 관여합니다.
