Target Information
MMP9 (matrix metallopeptidase 9, GELB, CLG4B)은 아연 및 칼슘 의존성 endopeptidase 계열에 속하는 단백질로, 세포 외 기질 단백질을 분해합니다.
MMP9은 92kDa zymogen 형태로 분비되며, pro-MMP9의 절단을 통해 82kDa 활성 효소가 생성됩니다.
이 단백질은 gelatin-binding domain, zinc-binding catalytic domain, proline-rich type V collagen-homologous domain, hemopexin-like domain을 포함합니다.
MMP9은 단핵구, 대식세포, 호중구, 각질형성세포, 섬유아세포, 파골세포, 내피세포 등에서 발현되며 염증 반응, 조직 재형성, 상처 치유, 종양 성장 및 전이 과정에 관여합니다.
또한 MMP9은 type IV 및 V collagen을 분해하며, IL-8에 의해 골수에서 조혈 전구세포의 이동을 유도하는 데 관여합니다.
연구 결과, MMP9의 높은 발현은 특발성 심방세동 및 대동맥류 진행과 연관되어 있습니다.
