Target Information
This gene encodes a protein which, together with Arachidonate 5-lipoxygenase-activating protein, is required for leukotriene synthesis. Leukotrienes are arachidonic acid metabolites involved in inflammatory responses such as asthma, arthritis, and psoriasis. The protein localizes to the plasma membrane. Inhibitors of its function block translocation of 5-lipoxygenase from the cytoplasm to the membrane and inhibit its activation.
