Syntrophin alpha-1 (Dystrophin, SNTA1)는 근섬유의 내면에서 발견되는 대형 막대 형태의 세포골격 단백질입니다. Duchenne 근이영양증 환자에서는 Dystrophin이 결여되어 있으며, Becker 근이영양증 환자에서는 감소된 양으로 존재합니다. 이 유전자가 암호화하는 단백질은 Dystrophin 및 관련 단백질과 결합하는 주변막 단백질로, 최소 두 개의 구조적으로 유사한 유전자를 포함하는 syntrophin 유전자군의 구성원입니다.
