- In direct ELISAs, no cross-reactivity with recombinant human PLA2G1B, G2A, or G7 is observed.
- Reconstitute at 0.5 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
The PLA2G2A gene encodes a member of the phospholipase A2 (PLA2) family. PLA2 enzymes are diverse in sequence, function, localization, and cation requirements. This protein belongs to group II, a secreted form of PLA2 that acts extracellularly, has low molecular mass, and requires calcium ions for catalysis. It hydrolyzes the sn-2 fatty acid acyl ester bond of phosphoglycerides, releasing free fatty acids and lysophospholipids. It is thought to regulate phospholipid metabolism in biomembranes. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants with different 5′ UTRs have been identified.
