Target Information
STING is a 379-amino-acid signaling protein that functions as a key component of innate immune signaling. It activates NF-κB and IRF3 transcription pathways to induce type I interferon (IFN-α and IFN-β) expression, leading to antiviral responses. STING may also participate in translocon function, influence interferon induction, and mediate apoptotic signaling via MHC-II association. It is localized in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane, cell membrane, and mitochondrial outer membrane, and is ubiquitously expressed across most tissues.
