Target Information

TNIK (TRAF2 and NCK Interacting Kinase)
TNIK is characterized by an N-terminal kinase domain and a C-terminal GCK domain that serves a regulatory function. It is mainly expressed in the brain, heart, and spleen and acts as a specific effector of RAP2, regulating the actin cytoskeleton. TNIK is autophosphorylated in a lys54-dependent manner within its kinase domain and plays a key role in cytoskeleton regulation. It phosphorylates gelsolin, an actin-severing protein, suggesting its role in cytoskeletal organization.
