RFP2 유전자가 암호화하는 단백질은 TRIM(tripartite motif) 패밀리에 속하며, RING, B-box type 1, B-box type 2 및 coiled-coil 영역으로 구성된 세 가지 아연 결합 도메인을 포함합니다. 이 단백질은 핵 근처의 세포질 소체에 위치하며, 기능은 아직 알려져 있지 않습니다. 해당 유전자는 B세포 만성 림프구성 백혈병의 최소 결실 영역 내 염색체 13에 위치합니다.
