The antibody detects endogenous levels of total TMPRSS11F protein.
Target Information
TMPRSS11F is a type-II transmembrane protease, similar to hepsin (TMPRSS1). It belongs to a family of membrane-attached serine proteases including TMPRSS11A–F, Hepsin, Corin, and Matriptase-1, 2, and 3.
TMPRSS11F has the following domain structure:
- Aminoterminal cytoplasmic domain
- Transmembrane domain
- SEA domain (Sea urchin sperm protein, Enterokinase, Agrin)
- Short spacer
- Trypsin-like serine protease domain
The SEA domain may play a role in carbohydrate binding, although its function in TMPRSS11F remains unclear. Cleavage at the Arg206–Ile207 bond is thought to liberate the catalytic domain.
