Target Information
BACH1.3 is a transcription factor belonging to the cap’n’collar type of basic region leucine zipper factor family (CNC-bZip).
The encoded protein contains BTB/POZ domains that facilitate protein-protein interactions and formation of homo/hetero oligomers.
When forming a heterodimer with MafK, it acts as a repressor of Maf recognition element (MARE).
Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified.
Some exons overlap with those of C21orf41, transcribed in the opposite orientation but not encoding a protein.
