Target Information
LRRC8A is an essential component of the volume-regulated anion channel (VRAC, also known as VSOAC channel), which maintains constant cell volume under osmotic stress. The VRAC channel conducts iodide more effectively than chloride and may also transport organic osmolytes such as taurine.
LRRC8A is involved in B-cell development (pro-B to pre-B cell transition) and required for T-cell development.
