Target Information
In vertebrates, homeobox genes encode transcription factors found in clusters (A, B, C, and D) on separate chromosomes. Expression of these proteins is spatially and temporally regulated during embryonic development. The HOXA4 gene, part of the A cluster on chromosome 7, encodes a DNA-binding transcription factor involved in gene regulation, morphogenesis, and differentiation.
