Target Information
The ALCAM (CD166) gene encodes the activated leukocyte cell adhesion molecule, a member of the immunoglobulin receptor subfamily with five immunoglobulin-like domains (VVC2C2C2) in its extracellular region.
This protein interacts with T-cell differentiation antigen CD6 and is involved in cell adhesion and migration processes.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
