The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the family of P-type cation transport ATPases and the subfamily of aminophospholipid-transporting ATPases. These aminophospholipid translocases transport phosphatidylserine and phosphatidylethanolamine across bilayer membranes. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
