Product Specific Information

Description:
The 2E7 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD103, the alphaE integrin. CD103 non-covalently associates with integrin beta7 and is expressed on intraepithelial lymphocytes, a subset of peripheral lymphocytes, and dendritic epidermal T cells (DEC). E-cadherin binds to CD103 and mediates lymphocyte homing to the intestinal epithelium.

Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse lymph node cells. Recommended ≤1 µg per test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Optimize by titration for best performance.

Fluorochrome Information:
Alexa Fluor® 700 emits at 723 nm and is excited with a red laser (633 nm). Use a 685 LP mirror and 710/20 filter for detection.

Target Information

CD103 (ITGAE, Integrin alpha E) is expressed on mucosa-associated T lymphocytes and activated cells. It forms a heterodimer with integrin β7, functioning as an E-cadherin binding integrin. CD103 expression occurs in 0.5–2% of resting lymphocytes in blood and lymphoid organs. It is part of the integrin family, composed of α and β chains. ITGAE encodes an I-domain-containing α integrin undergoing post-translational cleavage into disulfide-linked heavy and light chains. CD103 plays roles in adhesion and IEL activation. Dysregulation is associated with hairy cell leukemia and splenic marginal zone lymphoma.
