This antibody detects endogenous levels of total TFIIIA / GTF3A protein.
Target Information
GTF3A encodes a zinc finger protein with nine Cys(2)-His(2) zinc finger domains. It functions as an RNA polymerase III transcription factor that induces transcription of 5S rRNA genes. The protein binds to a 50 bp internal promoter region (ICR) within the 5S genes and forms a stable preinitiation complex, recruiting TFIIIC, TFIIIB, and RNA polymerase III to complete transcription initiation. In mammals, translation may occur via a non-AUG initiation site based on sequence and homology analyses.
