PIP5K1C는 phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate를 인산화하여 phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate를 형성하는 lipid kinase입니다.
이 단백질은 시냅스에서 발견되며, 엔도사이토시스 및 세포 이동에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
또한 β-catenin과 직접 결합하여 성장 인자 자극 후 β-catenin 활성과 인산화를 증가시켜 핵 내 이동 및 전사 활성화를 촉진합니다.
