Target Information
Raf-1 (c-Raf) is a MAP kinase kinase kinase (MAP3K) acting downstream of Ras GTPases. Upon activation, Raf-1 phosphorylates MEK1/2, which then activate ERK1/2 kinases. Activated ERKs regulate gene expression controlling cell cycle, apoptosis, differentiation, and migration. Mutations in RAF1 are associated with Noonan syndrome 5 and LEOPARD syndrome 2.
