Target Information
Ribosomes are organelles that catalyze protein synthesis, consisting of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. These subunits are composed of 4 RNA species and approximately 80 distinct proteins. The RPL32 gene encodes a component of the 60S subunit belonging to the L32E family. Located in the cytoplasm, this gene is mapped to chromosome 3p25-p24. Multiple processed pseudogenes are dispersed throughout the genome. Alternative splicing variants encoding the same protein have been observed.
