For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of ~1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Cytokeratin 18 (Keratin 18, KRT18, type I cytoskeletal 18) is a type A (acidic) low molecular weight keratin that pairs with cytokeratin 8.
It is expressed in epithelial tissues from gastrointestinal, respiratory, and urogenital tracts, as well as endocrine, exocrine, and mesothelial cells.
Cytokeratin 18 is found mainly in non-squamous epithelia and in most adenocarcinomas and ductal carcinomas, but not in squamous cell carcinomas.
Hepatocellular carcinomas express only cytokeratins 8 and 18. Mutations in KRT18 are associated with cryptogenic cirrhosis.
Two transcript variants encoding the same protein exist.
Cytokeratin expression patterns aid in distinguishing epithelial malignancy types and are useful in immunohistochemistry, cytopathology, and flow cytometry assays.
