Target Information
Ribosomes are organelles that catalyze protein synthesis, composed of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. These subunits contain 4 RNA species and about 80 distinct proteins. The gene encoding this protein is part of the S12E family of ribosomal proteins and is located in the cytoplasm. Increased expression has been observed in colorectal cancers compared to normal colonic mucosa. Multiple processed pseudogenes of this gene are dispersed throughout the genome.
