This antibody detects endogenous levels of total PHLPP1 protein.
Target Information
PHLPP1 is a member of the serine/threonine phosphatase family, which regulates Akt kinases (AKT1, AKT2, AKT3) and PKC isoforms.
PHLPP1 and PHLPP2 share similar domain structures and dephosphorylate distinct Akt isoforms at Serine473, a critical activation site.
PHLPP1 specifically targets AKT2 and AKT3, promoting apoptosis and potentially acting as a tumor suppressor.
Elevated PHLPP1 expression may contribute to obesity and type 2 diabetes by interfering with Akt-mediated insulin signaling.
