Target Information
ALKBH8은 tRNA의 anticodon loop wobble 위치에서 5-carboxymethyl uridine을 5-methylcarboxymethyl uridine으로 메틸화하는 효소로, methyltransferase 도메인을 통해 작용합니다.
tRNA(Arg) 및 tRNA(Glu)에 대한 선호성을 가지며, tRNA(Lys)에는 결합하지 않습니다. 또한 dioxygenase 도메인을 통해 5-(S)-methoxycarbonylhydroxymethyluridine을 생성하는 iron 및 α-ketoglutarate 의존적 hydroxylation 반응을 촉매합니다.
이 단백질은 DNA 손상 후 정상적인 생존에 필요하며, 세포 생존 및 혈관신생을 촉진하고 세포자멸사를 억제할 수 있습니다.
