The Human NGAL Simplex ProcartaPlex™ Kit measures NGAL protein and is designed to be combinable with other Simplex kits to create a custom multiplex panel utilizing Luminex xMAP technology for protein detection and quantitation.
When combining multiple Simplex kits, only one buffer kit (sold separately) is needed per assay plate regardless of plex size.

About ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform

ProcartaPlex immunoassays are based on sandwich ELISA principles, using two highly specific antibodies binding to different epitopes of one protein. This allows simultaneous quantitation of multiple protein targets using a Luminex instrument.

ProcartaPlex assays utilize Luminex xMAP technology for simultaneous detection and quantitation of up to 80 protein targets in a single 25–50 μL sample from plasma, serum, or cell culture supernatants.

The Luminex beads are internally dyed with precise proportions of red and infrared fluorophores, creating unique spectral signatures identifiable by Luminex detection systems (e.g., Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, MAGPIX).
Each bead is labeled with antibodies specific for a single target protein, and bound proteins are identified using biotinylated antibodies and streptavidin–R-phycoerythrin (RPE).

Unlike traditional ELISA, the capture antibody in ProcartaPlex assays is conjugated to a bead rather than adsorbed to a microplate well, allowing free-floating reagents. Detection is performed using dual-laser Luminex instruments—one laser identifies bead signatures, and the other quantifies RPE fluorescence proportional to protein amount.
This enables profiling of more target proteins using less sample in the same time as a conventional ELISA.

ProcartaPlex multiplex panels are available across six species (human, mouse, rat, nonhuman primate, porcine, canine).
